Dr. Heather Dirkmaat, ND received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Sonoran University of Health Sciences with Honors. She focused her studies on pediatric medicine with special attention in autism and ADHD. She received her Master of Biotechnologies from John Hopkins University and Master of Biomedical Science from University of Northern Colorado. She prides herself on continuing her education through study and lab work. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Research Department at Sonoran University of Health Sciences where she continues to broaden the lens regarding possible remedies for communicable diseases. She held a residency position at Arizona Natural Health under the guidance of Dr. Eric Udell and Dr. Jamie Oskin, where she further studied homeopathic medicine and the treatment of neurodevelopmental delays and ADHD.
Dr. Dirkmaat is originally from Colorado, but she loves her new home in Arizona. She enjoys traveling the world, with Japan being her favorite place to visit. She is a mother to 8 wonderful children that have come by extraordinary means. One of her daughters has ADHD and dyslexia, which is one of the many reasons she has a passion for helping children with similar conditions.
Dr. Dirkmaat lives on a hobby farm in Queen Creek where she takes care of her donkeys, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and turkeys. She is a plant enthusiast and loves growing her own food. She is also an avid marathoner and has completed over 20 marathons around the world. When not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Dirkmaat out on the farm with her children and animals.
